Lucenahins gather for unveiling of Lola Uta’s statue

Sacred Heart College and the Lucena City Local Government Unit and Lucena Council for Culture and the Arts (LCCA) join hands to unveil the Hermana Fausta Labrador Statue at Heroes Lane, Pleasantville Subdivision, August 14.

Guests and audiences in their native barongs and Filipinianas attended the statue’s uncovering which began its construction same day last year.

“Ito ay matagal na naming minimithi,” stated by Lucena City Mayor and SHC Alumni Mayor Roderick “Dondon” Alcala. “Kami pong mga graduate ng Sacred Heart College, ipinagmamalaki po namin si Nanay Uta,” he added.

The said event started with an invocation, “Diyos ay Pagibig” sung by the SHC-IBED Choir headed by Lamberto Galleno and the national anthem sung by the Lucena City DepEd Chorale. The audiences were welcomed by Sr. Mary Anne G. Evidente, D.C., Chairperson of Hermana Fausta Memorial Foundation (HFMF) and followed by a short message from Arween G. Flores, Chairman of LCCA. The opening was succeeded by the unveiling ceremony led by Hon. Mayor Roderick Alcala, Sr. Josefina R. Quiachon D.C. (SHC President), Hon. Vice Mayor Phillip M. Castillo, Hon. Councilor Benito, Brizuela, Alberto SA. Bay Jr., Arch. Jennifer SA. Sanchez, Dr. Enriquetta E. Alcoreza (President of SHC Lucena Alumni Association, Inc.).
