I am the Sacred Heart and not the sacred head, thus Rev. Fr. Jose Fernando Defante said in his homily during the Eucharistic celebration held at SHC Cultural Center and Gymnasium on August 13.

The community of Sacred Heart College celebrated thanksgiving as it marked its 131 years of existence as an educational institution. Both IBED and HED students as well as faculty members attended the mass.

In his sermon, Fr. Defante characterized each letter of CORD (as in Cordian) for complicated, obedient, responsible, and dedicated. I urge you all to instill the meaning of CORD and SHC (for simplicity, humility, charity) in your daily living, he emphasized.

Rev. Fr. Msgr. Ronaldo Oliverio, the chaplain of the institution, and Rev. Fr. Jose Fernando Defante concelebrated the mass of thanksgiving for the fruitful, productive and successful 131 years of Sacred Heart College.

Christian Vincentian Formation (CVF) Team, with the participation of the IBED Chorale, organized the mass.
