CONAP dominates Clash of Talents, 2014

The performance of College of Nursing and Pharmacy (CONAP) was the cherry on top in this year’s Clash of Talents where the college won back the crown from the College of Education who have reined champion in last year’s Talent Explosion, August 14.

Amy Vargas directed their performance who also won as Best Director. Their winning piece was entitled “Oras” depicting the demise and renewal of the Filipino culture and the values of faith, family and hope.

Other top presentations were the College of Accountancy (COA)’s Pieta, and College of Social Work (CSSW)’s Kakulangan ng Kultura Sa Kadena ng Katotohanan, which placed 2nd runner-up and 1st runner-up, respectively.

Simeon Ricalde, from the College of Teacher Education (CoTEd), won the Best Script award. On the other hand, Best Actor and Best actress were awarded to Eric Diguidig (COA) and Catherine Dellosa (CSSW).

Dr. Luzviminda Calzado, Director of Student Activities, Development, and Discipline, dubbed the artistic presentations as the Pitong Palabras: Kultura, Oras, Pieta, Kadena, Hiyas, at Bakas, in her closing remarks.

The board of judges comprises Mr. Jonas Ebora, Ms. Lilibeth Azores, Sr. Nenita Patena DC, Ms. Rowena Adormeo, with their chairman, Mr. Felino Tañada.

This event, which was formerly called Talent Explosion, is held every College Day’s Celebration to promote the artistry and of Cordian directors, writers, and artists.
